History Grandmaster Hwang Kee founded the Moo Duk KwanTM in 1945 at the end of the Japanese occupation of Korea. He was instrumental in reintroducing Korean martial tradition after a long period of suppression of the Korean culture.
Tradition Soo Bahk DoTM style keeps alive the martial tradition of Korea. This includes the use of Korean terminology, class ettiquette and training attire.

Technique Korean martial arts are renowned for their dynamic kicking techniques. Grandmaster Hwang Kee mastered this and the use of bare hands for blocking and striking. He analysed the physics and biomechanics of all Soo Bahk DoTM technique and from this has created an effective teaching system . Soo Bahk Do martial art challenges its students to continually improve all facets of their training.
